Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Italy to attend the G7 summit, where India is participating for the 11th time and Modi for the fifth. He is scheduled to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The summit, taking place from June 13 to 15 at the Borgo Egnazia resort in Apulia, Italy, will see leaders from the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, and France, with the European Union as a non-enumerated member. This visit marks Modi’s first overseas trip since beginning his third term as Prime Minister, and he will spend 24 hours in Italy.
