Noida Traffic Police Installs Green Nets at Red Lights to Shield Commuters from Sunlight

In a novel initiative to bring relief to commuters, especially those on two-wheelers, Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has installed green nets at traffic lights on road intersections to shield them from direct sunlight. The first installation is near the NSEZ (Noida Special Economic Zone) intersection, where temporary green covers have been placed about 25 feet above the ground, according to police.

“In line with the instructions given by Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, a new initiative has been started by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police. Under this initiative, green nets are being installed at road intersections with high numbers of two-wheelers, where commuters have to stop for extended periods at red lights,” a police spokesperson said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav inspected the site of the green installations on Monday and issued directions to personnel to ensure smooth traffic management, the official added.
