Justice Sanjiv Khanna swears in as 51st Chief Justice of India on Monday in an official ceremony presided by President Droupadi Murmu in Rashtrapati Bhawan. Justice Khanna succeeded Justice DY Chandrachud after his two year tenure.
The Union Government announced Justice Khanna’s apointment on October 24, after Justice Chandrachud recommended him officially as his successor.
On his last working day on Friday, Justice Chandrachud was given a rousing farewell by his colleagues.
Justice Khanna is the son of former Delhi High Court judge, Dev Raj Khanna .
