External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who landed in Islamabad on Tuesday to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meet, attended the dinner hosted by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif this evening. He is the first finance minister to land in Pakistan after 9 years, after the last visit by Sushma Swaraj in 2015.
Jaishankar exhanged pleasantries with Pakistan’s Prime Minister during the reception which was hosted for SCO delegates. Both leaders warmly shook hands with each other and had a brief interaction.
The main conclave of the summit will be held on Wednesday.
