The first image of the Ram Lalla idol, carved in black stone and holding a golden bow and arrow, was revealed by the Vishva Hindu Parishad and shared with the public on Friday. The 51-inch idol of the five-year-old Ram is now placed inside the main area of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, three days before the pran pratishtha ceremony on January 22.
As per a report, the original idols of Ram (Ram Lalla Virajman) and his brothers will be placed in front of the new idol within the garbagriha. These idols, worshipped since 1949, currently reside in the temporary temple on the premises and will be shifted to the new temple within the garbagriha before the ceremony. The entire temple complex is scheduled to be closed to the public on January 20 and 21.
