Delhi metro has started a special drive on weekdays on all its lines to prevent entry of men in women’s coaches.
On the first day of drive on Tuesday, 108 men were counselled and removed from women’s coaches and 32 were fined Rs. 250 under Delhi Metro (O&M) Act.
“DMRC would also like to reiterate that the first coach of all metro trains in running direction is reserved from women passengers only, and male passangers are advised to refrain from travelling in these coaches, irrespective of the timing.” , said Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of corporate communications, DMRC.
