Cyclone Fengal has started to make landfall, according to the weather office. In three to four hours, it should traverse the shores of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. During landfall, wind speeds are predicted to reach 80–90 kmph. Heavy rain is expected in the districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, and Puducherry. Because of the bad weather, the Chennai airport will be closed till 4 am tomorrow, and the frequency of local trains will be lowered.
