On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled and initiated various development projects valued at more than ₹20,000 crore in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli. These projects span the aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping, and higher education sectors.
Additionally, he officially opened the new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport.
The two-level terminal building, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹1100 crore, can accommodate over 44 lakh passengers annually and approximately 3,500 during peak hours, as per information released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Prime Minister Modi is undertaking a two-day visit to the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, along with the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, scheduled from January 2-3.
