Popular Tamil actor Suriya has recently joined the esteemed group of celebrity team owners in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), a groundbreaking cricket tournament known for its tennis ball T10 matches. Suriya is proudly announced as the owner of the Chennai team, adding his name to the likes of other Bollywood icons such as Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, and Ram Charan, who own teams representing Mumbai, Srinagar, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, respectively.
This unique tennis ball T10 cricket extravaganza is scheduled to unfold from March 2 to March 9 in Mumbai next year. The inaugural edition is set to feature a total of six teams, including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar.
While making waves in the cricketing arena, Suriya is simultaneously making strides on the silver screen. His upcoming project, “Kanguva,” directed by Siva and featuring Bollywood star Disha Patani, promises to be a noteworthy addition to his acting repertoire. The talented actor expressed his excitement about the ISPL ownership on a platform called X, emphasizing the desire to forge a legacy of sportsmanship, resilience, and cricketing excellence together with cricket enthusiasts.
