Residents in Greater Noida are protesting ongoing electricity outages, threatening to shut down the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) office if not addressed. Residents of high-rises like Panchsheel Hynish and Supertech Ecovillage 1 report daily six to eight-hour outages amid heatwaves. The New Era Flat Owners’ Welfare Association (NEFOWA) also staged a protest and sought intervention from the Uttar Pradesh government. NPCL officials cited poor power infrastructure and a damaged internal transformer at Panchsheel Hynish as causes. NPCL spokesperson Manoj Jha noted that these societies have exceeded their planned population capacity, contributing to the issues.
