A doctor was assaulted over a financial dispute in Nashik, Maharashtra, and is currently hospitalized in critical condition, according to a police official on Sunday.
The husband of one of the victim’s former employees has been apprehended for the assault. The woman was alleged to have misappropriated Rs. 6 lakh while working at his hospital. She was terminated from her position but later reinstated. However, she reportedly borrowed an additional Rs. 12 lakh and failed to repay it.
A case has been filed against the former employee and her husband based on the complaint lodged by the doctor’s wife.
The Indian Medical Association called off its protest march on Saturday following the arrest made in the case, according to officials.
